IdeaUnderservedCLIOPEN-SOURCEDEVTOOLLive

A CLI tool that validates your OpenClaw instance configuration and plugins against a target version, reports exactly what will break, and generates a migration patch before you upgrade

OpenClaw v2026.4.24 through 4.29 broke thousands of instances because plugin migrations moved integrations from core to ClawHub without warning. Users jumping multiple versions (e.g. 4.5 to 4.26) found Discord, Telegram, and other integrations silently broken. The OpenClaw Foundation announced an LTS branch, but no tool exists to pre-validate whether your specific config, skills, and plugins will survive a version bump before you pull the trigger.

Gap Assessment

UnderservedExisting solutions leave gaps. Underserved market

2 tools exist (ManageMyClaw Update Survival Guide, GetOpenClaw Recovery Checklist) but gaps remain: No automated validation, no config parsing, no dry-run simulation, no migration patch generation; Version-specific only, no forward-looking validation, no automated config analysis.

Features3 agent-ready prompts

Config parser that reads your OpenClaw instance config files, installed skill manifest, and plugin registry, then checks each against the target version's breaking changes changelog
Dry-run upgrade simulator that spins up a temporary Docker container with the target OpenClaw version, copies your config in, and reports which services fail to start
Migration patch generator that outputs a step-by-step shell script to fix all detected incompatibilities, installing ClawHub replacements for removed core plugins and rewriting deprecated config keys
