An API that gives MCP server operators real-time health checks, OAuth flow tracing, and client-compatibility scoring across the major AI clients

MCP servers break silently in production: OAuth flows stop working after client updates, 52% of public MCP servers are unreachable, and developers have no surface to know whether their server is healthy for Claude.ai, Cursor, or any other client. There is no runtime observability layer between MCP server authors and the clients consuming them. This API gives MCP server operators continuous health monitoring, per-client OAuth trace logs, and a compatibility score so they can detect and fix failures before users abandon their integration.

Gap Assessment

CompetitiveMultiple tools exist but differentiation opportunities remain

4 tools exist (mcp-remote, Spanly, OpenStatus MCP Health Check, MintMCP) but gaps remain: No health checks, no per-client compatibility scoring, no alerting, no trace logs. A workaround, not a reliability surface. Python SDK fix still open as of June 2026.; Does not test reachability or OAuth flows from the client side. Cannot detect a broken auth flow that prevents the agent from reaching the server in the first place. Pre-product, 2 HN points..

mcp-remoteCommunity OAuth bridge that wraps stdio-only MCP clients in an OAuth-capable proxy with a refresh flow. Solves a narrow auth-plumbing problem for developers running local stdio clients. No health checks, no per-client compatibility scoring, no alerting, no trace logs. A workaround, not a reliability surface. Python SDK fix still open as of June 2026.
SpanlyObservability for what AI agents do inside your MCP server. Tracks tool invocations from the server side.Does not test reachability or OAuth flows from the client side. Cannot detect a broken auth flow that prevents the agent from reaching the server in the first place. Pre-product, 2 HN points.
OpenStatus MCP Health CheckOne-off playground tool that runs the MCP handshake and returns a pass/fail verdict for a given server URL.No continuous monitoring, no OAuth trace, no per-client compatibility matrix, no alerting, no API for CI integration. A manual spot-check tool, not a production reliability layer.
MintMCPFull MCP hosting platform with built-in OAuth, one-click deploy, SOC 2, and enterprise monitoring for servers running on their infrastructure.Vendor lock-in: monitoring only works for servers hosted on MintMCP. Operators who self-host or deploy to their own infra get nothing. No client-compatibility scoring across Claude.ai, Cursor, OpenAI Agent Builder.
