A browser extension that detects and blocks websites from scanning your installed extensions

Major websites like LinkedIn silently scan for thousands of installed browser extensions to build a unique fingerprint of each visitor, tracking them across sessions without cookies. Most privacy tools block canvas or WebGL fingerprinting but completely miss this extension-enumeration vector. This tool intercepts those probe requests in real time, alerts users which sites are scanning them, and optionally returns fabricated noise to defeat the fingerprint.

Gap Assessment

CompetitiveMultiple tools exist but differentiation opportunities remain

4 tools exist (uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger (EFF), Canvas Blocker / Fingerprint Spoofer, Multilogin) but gaps remain: No specific detection or blocking of extension-enumeration fingerprinting probes; filter lists do not cover the resource-URL probe pattern LinkedIn uses; Does not address first-party extension-scan fingerprinting at all; LinkedIn's probe is a first-party page script, invisible to Privacy Badger's cross-site heuristic.

Features6 agent-ready prompts

Real-time extension probe interception
Noise injection mode (spoofing instead of blocking)
Per-site threat alert and audit log
Extension ID database with auto-update
Site allowlist and per-site policy control
Privacy report and shareable evidence export

ProductDoesMissing
uBlock OriginBlocks known ad/tracker scripts and network requests using curated filter listsNo specific detection or blocking of extension-enumeration fingerprinting probes; filter lists do not cover the resource-URL probe pattern LinkedIn uses
Privacy Badger (EFF)Learns and blocks cross-site trackers heuristically based on third-party tracking signalsDoes not address first-party extension-scan fingerprinting at all; LinkedIn's probe is a first-party page script, invisible to Privacy Badger's cross-site heuristic
Canvas Blocker / Fingerprint SpooferRandomizes canvas, WebGL, audio context, and screen resolution fingerprint vectorsEntirely blind to the extension-scan attack vector; spoofing canvas pixels does nothing when the site is probing for installed extension resource URLs
MultiloginAnti-detect browser for multi-account management; creates isolated browser profiles with spoofed fingerprintsRequires switching to a separate browser entirely; not a drop-in shield for a user's normal Chrome/Firefox; priced for affiliate marketers and e-commerce, not individual privacy users
